The Georgetown Charter Township is a charter township in Ottawa County, Michigan, United States. It has a population of 46,985 as of the 2010 census. The city of Hudsonville is located adjacent to Georgetown Township, as is the unincorporated community of Jenison, which includes approximately half of the city’s population. In 2008, the township was home to a population of 43,097. The city is located about eight miles east of downtown Ottawa, and is easily accessible by car, train, or bus.
Georgetown Township is home to 5,975 residents, 39.8% of whom were under the age of 18. Of the total number of households, 73.5% of households were headed by married couples, while 5.8% of households were headed by a female householder without her husband. A total of 16.9% of the township’s residents were non-families. Similarly, 10.1% of all households were made up of individuals. In addition, the average household size was 2.86 people, with a family size of three.
The Georgetown Township Charter Township is an unincorporated community located in Ottawa County. Its official status is that of a census-designated place (CDP). This means that it has no legal status as a municipality and is governed by the Georgetown Charter Township. In the 2000 census, the population of the CDP was 17,211; the ZIP code contains a population of 25,770. The township has a total area of 34.1 square miles and 88 km2.
